Patience Limitation has been Reached

July 30th, 2009 Comments off

So I am completely tired of bouncing off of instance doorways with the yellow spam of instance issues.  They need to stop bragging on units sold or number of subscribers and actually fix the issues that are affecting players in-game today.  This week we have tried farming mounts, continuing “Glory to the Hero”, and farm some badges for a fellow guildie.  All the while seeing the same yellow text over and over again.  I submit a ticket every time I get this error to the same generic response from a GM.  In response to this I have voted against Blizzard with my money, and have canceled my account.  I have plenty of time remaining, so it will be a while until I no longer play.  I have emailed every address that Blizzard provides during the cancellation process.   I had only one response

I will forward your report to the appropriate people. While I cannot guarantee a response, I can assure you it will be read.

Best Regards,

Elissa W.
Blizzard Entertainment

This still is unacceptable.  With the upcoming changes to badges in 3.2 and no reasonable information as to the fix to this problem.  Recent information has come out on the EU forums stating that much of the extended maintenance they have been experiencing lately is to fix this.  However, nothing was mentioned about US servers.  Until there is an actual acknowledgment about this issue, other then the lazy Bornakk response about a month ago, I will consider this issue neglected.  I consider acknowledgment some form of information on the log in screen.  Many users do not read the forums and are unaware of the extent of this issue.  The reach of this issue has gotten me thinking about some form of a class action lawsuit against.  It looks to me like this would fall under the following terms of service agreement (section 15 and 16.)

  1. Limitation of Liability.

NEITHER BLIZZARD NOR ITS PARENT, SUBSIDIARIES, LICENSORS OR AFFILIATES SHALL BE LIABLE IN ANY WAY FOR DAMAGE OR LOSS OF ANY KIND RESULTING FROM (A) THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE GAME OR SERVICE INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION; (B) THE LOSS OR DAMAGE TO CHARACTERS, ACCOUNTS, STATISTICS, INVENTORIES OR USER PROFILE INFORMATION; OR (C) INTERRUPTIONS OF SERVICE INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ISP DISRUPTIONS, SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE FAILURES OR ANY OTHER EVENT WHICH MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF DATA OR DISRUPTION OF SERVICE. IN NO EVENT WILL BLIZZARD BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

  2. Force Majeure.

Blizzard shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes outside the reasonable control of Blizzard, including without limitation any failure to perform hereunder due to unforeseen circumstances or cause beyond Blizzard’s control such as acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor or materials.

We are currently paying for a service not being provided.  This is not a act of god, it is a act of neglagence.  They know how many people they have, they know how many instance are run and have not done anything to address this pending issue.  Now I am not looking to make money on this, maybe have a month of time refunded for everyone and force Blizzard to admit the neglagence and neglect they have put on the game ever since their lead staff has left to work on the alternate project.  Like I said, I am no lawyer, however if there is one interested in this, I will gladly fill you in on all of the issues pertaining to this I will gladly help.

I am writing this because of all of the wasted time I am now spending trying to play something that I am playing to play.  Don’t be surprised if I do not ask some very hard questions or even serve Blizzard with papers at Blizzcon.  This is how upset I am over this issue.

It’s for a great cause!

There are two charities I really truly believe in.  One is the Texas Children’s Hospital and the other is Child’s Play.  A fellow gamer out at Sarcastic Gamer has setup the second annual extralife charity run.  This is a fund raiser where you sponsor players to “run” their marathon for 24 hours.  It is a 24 hour gaming marathon.  I did it last year and made it almost 20 hours.  Last year they raised a total of $120,000.  I used WoW as a majority of my time, logging in almost 13 straight hours in game.   This marathon is about finding a cure for pediatric cancer.

The training has started again for this year.   I have 3 months before the marathon starts on October 17.  I will be posting my training routine.  I will be hoping some thing big will drop in-game at or around there and will give me the distraction I want and need.

You can read all about it on my page: https://waystogive.texaschildrens.org/netcommunity/bradpriller and the offical page is http://extralife.sarcasticgamer.com/

I am looking for a dollar an hour, so please sponsor what you can.

All this money goes directly to the Texas Children’s Hospital.

I encourage everyone who can to donate or sign-up and just do it as well!

Quick Run down 3.2 PTR Experience

June 25th, 2009 Comments off

So I have been on the PTR for 2 days now, well I should say, trying to play on the PTR.  The lag has been so horrible it is unplayable.  So I login, check the new gear and log out.  Even checking out the gear seems to take forever.  The server is so bogged down with mindless drones right now and few people actually willing to test anything, that those who want to play and try out these to talents and ACTUALLY test things cannot.  I guess this is the price of the new shiney.  These people will signon, get bored and leave.  Or so it the hope.  Keep an eye out, I hope to offer some real PTR expierance here shortly.

World of Warcraft PTR Patch 3.2.0 Notes

June 18th, 2009 Comments off

3.2.0 PTR Patch Notes Released and can be found here World of Warcraft PTR Patch 3.2.0

Being a Pally, I can be biased and say, some nice changes a coming.  Having a DK, I have to say whats the point of a hero class if it is brought inline with all other classes.  I can start at 55?  PvP is ruining the game to enforce the rock/paper/scissors aspect.

Mountain Dew Battle-Bot Pet Details

June 12th, 2009 Comments off

Sorry I have been lagging behind lately.  We have down Hodir, as you can tell from my recent achievement.  This fight took us 11 tries over 2 nights.   It involves a little luck and some good movement.  Which, I guess is the theme of Ulduar.

Now on to the real reason you stopped by, the Mountain Dew Battle-Bot

Having just done this myself I can give you all the details concerning the Mountain Dew Battle-Bot. This is a free pet from the Mountain Dew promotion for their Game Fuel line of drinks.
First, click here.  This is the direct link to battle.net claim page.  It eliminates the need to load the cumbersome flash page.  If you are do not trust links to odd pages, go to http://www.mountaindewgamefuel.com/, wait for the flash to load then click on the bot logo in the bottom right hand corner.  Either one of these will lead to step 2.

Second, sign in with you battle.net account.  If you do not have one, register using the link below the sign in.  This is where it gets a little tricky, if you have your WoW account linked with your battle.net account, you are done.  You have the bot, it will be waiting in your mail the next time you log out completely and back in.  If you do not have your account linked,  go to the home page of your battle.net account.  From there you might have two options or just one.  When I did it the other day I have to click “Add a Game”, then that gave me the option to merge my WoW account with my battle.net account.  However, I go there today to confirm for this writeup, and there is a “World of Warcraft Account” link at the top.   Just click on that link and follow the directions.

Things to note:

  • Your battle.net account is your new sign in to wow. (youremail@yourprovider.com)
  • Your battle.net password is your WoW password.
  • You cannot undo this process.  Once it is done, it is final.
  • This appears to be a way to get more people migrated to the battle.net authentication system.
  • And once you have your Battle-Bot, you can do this daily in-order to claim fuel for him.  Red or Blue.
  • You have to get your fuel out of the your mailbox the day you claim it or it will go away.
  • Blue fueled bots fight Red fueled bots, and likewise.
  • You receive this perk on every toon created at the time of claim. (You might get it on more, I have not created a new toon since starting this.)

Have fun, and remember, you can gang up on bots.  Same colors bots do not fight each other, only opposites.
